Dey DERIBCOWSKI

Dey DeRibcowsky was born in Rustchuk, Bulgaria on October 13, 1880. At age 13 he began art studies in Paris and continued in Florence and Petrograd. After founding the Academy of Beaux Arts in Buenos Aires in 1904, he immigrated to the United States in 1910. He lived in New York until settling in Inglewood, California in the early 1920s. He died in Los Angeles on August 15, 1936. Member: Newport Art Ass'n. Exhibited: Petrograd, 1902 (medal); Uruguay Expo, Montevideo, 1908 (medal); Rio de Janeiro Expo, 1909 (medal); Odessa, 1909 (prize); Moscow, 1910 (prize); Sofia National Gallery, 1910 (prize); Soutwest International Fair (El Paso), 1924. Works held: Museum Alexander III (Petrograd); Uruguay Museum; Buenos Aires Museum; National Palaces of Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro.
